Wouldn't know by reading the news but we just had the best market rally in two decades?

Nine straight days coming into today of positive market results, basically making up for all of the losses that came from the tariff announcements.

Who would have thunk it? The market has swung all the way back and then some. Of course this just proves (according to haters) that Trump's economy is chaotic rather than resilient.

But who can "really" say that they are seeing a sharp effect from any of the tariff nonsense? Gas prices are not up, energy costs are not up, groceries are not up. Not sure about big ticket items, but I have not seen anything closely resembling a troublesome cost of living increase based on any tariffs.

But what we are quietly seeing are billions of dollars from these tariffs hitting our government pocketbook. The deficit was at the lowest level in years based on the last reported numbers from the CBO. This was at least in part brought on by the revenue captured from tariffs, which are little more than a "corporate tax" on foreign corporations. There is some speculation that once we get used to this, that the President will not be fighting too hard to remove the baseline 10% he put across the board. It does bring much needed revenue without taxing Americans. One would think that would be a good thing, but...

Now there are come economists coming out and claiming we could be looking at an economic rally, rather than a possible recession. The media will be loath to report this, as they want to continue to push the recession narrative. But make no mistake, there is a good reason why the Feds do not believe they need to lower rates right now. The tariff fallout is probably 10% real and 90% hype and those in the know making decisions understand this to be true. Make no mistake, the economy is fundamentally sound.
