Worst case scenario for our country?

Donald Trump is found guilty in New York, loses election, and the conviction is overturned on appeal after the election.

The sad thing about this whole event is that it appears to be the prosecution and judge's goal. To get a conviction by any means possible, accept that the case will be overturned on appeal, but hope that is dragged out till after the elections. That way they can tag Donald Trump as a convicted felon while he is running for President.

Even those on the left who still believe there may be a conviction (and who knows at this point) are accepting of the fact that the Judge has made several "reversable" decisions, and that an appeal is likely be be successful. Starting with the indictment not actually covering the full aspects of the crime, we can move on to the irrelevant Stormy Daniels sex dialogue, the refusal to allow an expert witness from the FEC to rebut the "opinion" of a serial perjurer, disbarred attorney, convicted felon on campaign finance laws, as well as the predisposed decision of the judge to not require that the jury come to any "unanimous" conclusion on a second crime. Apparently they can all just pick and choose a random crime that they believe he "might" have committed, find him guilty of the misdemeanor bookkeeping crime, and elevate it all to a felony.

The first rule of prosecutorial misconduct is that you have to disclose all evidence that is exculpatory for the defense. But in this case, the evidence exculpatory for the defense is well know, but the judge is simply not allowing it. Reminds me of the movie Liar Liar where Jim Carrey objects to testimony and when the judge askes under what grounds, he admits that it is devastating to his case. Here we are seeing similar objections made by the prosecution, only these objections are sustained over and over and over, not allowing the jury to hear exculpatory information. When in doubt, then the fifth and sixth amendments should take precedent over any claims made by a prosecution. Legal observers are at a loss to explain what reasoning the judge is using to sustain many of these objections.

To be clear, we have people running around committing felonies in New York who are not being prosecuted, while Bragg and gang have elevated a seven year old bookkeeping misdemeanor into a felony 100% for political reasons. The fact that not everyone is disgusted by that is one thing. But if this results in a conviction and that conviction if overturned, well then we are up for some real shit hitting the fan.
