Does either side even want peace?
In protest over the purported airstrike, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas cancelled his participation in a meeting with Biden, Jordan’s King Abdullah II and Egypt’s president set for Wednesday in Amman, Jordan to discuss the war. Abbas’ Palestinian Authority runs parts of the West Bank.
Hundreds of Palestinians flooded the streets of major West Bank cities including Ramallah, the seat of the Palestinian Authority, where protesters hurled stones at Palestinian security forces who fired back with stun grenades. Hundreds of people joined protests that erupted in Beirut and Amman, where an angry crowd gathered outside the Israeli Embassy.
There are a lot of suspicious things about the Hospital situation, including Palestinians being able to determine a body count within a couple of hours of the explosion. Palestine is blaming Israel and Israel is blaming Palestine. At this point, I believe Israel would admit bombing a hospital if they had evidence that it was a front for the terrorists. So their denial sort of rings a little truer to me.
Now the protests in the West Bank are a whole other situation. Are they there because they want the West Bank to get involved? Are they there because they just want to throw rocks at someone? Are they there because it is the cool place to be? I really have no clue at this point.
What I know is that these things happen in war. I, for one, am more than sick and tired of treating every Palestinian death as if it was some sort of holy sacrifice. They are no different than the Israelis who died last week and no different from Russians and Ukrainians who are also dying. They are not religious martyrs. They are what is commonly referred to as "collateral damage". Let's not forget who started this war.
Update: This is actual video of what appears to be a rocket from within Gaza that appears to fizzle out of the air, a few seconds later you see an explosion about where you would expect the rocket to have fallen. The explosion has been confirmed to be the Hospital. So it would be mighty coincidental that this rocket misfired, did not explode, at the same time another rocket (that nobody sees) from Israel hits the hospital?
Either way... watch for yourself and draw your own conclusions.
