Remember there was twenty million in damages and nearly 200 arrested in Jan of 2016 for assaulting Capital police officers.
There are already rallies and marches and protests being scheduled in the days that will lead up to the certification and inauguration of Donald Trump as our 47th President. In 2016, Democrats held more of these marches and protests than most can remember. Of course they all had a side helping of violence, but we were told that they were "mostly peaceful" and to just move on and focus on the reason for the rage. What is the chances that all of this goes on without any violence or protests turning into riots?
I have to wonder out loud, if many liberals are not thinking that violence would make the hypocrites after being all up in arms over the fact that the Republicans got a bit angry over things in 2020. Perhaps they will try to take the high road? Perhaps? Maybe? I don't know, but that seems unlikely.
To add more fuel to the fire, Trump has promised to pardon many of those arrested and convicted on Jan 6th. If the statements are to be believed, the pardons will involve everyone who was not charged with any actual violence. So those who were simply charged with unlawful entry or obstruction of Congress will be pardoned... even as the obstruction of Congress ruling by the USSC is still being litigated. Trump winning back the White House will take those rulings out of the hands of the corrupt judges who sentenced non-violent protesters to prison. I am sure they were looking for ways around having to drop those charges. Now whether or not any of these people come back and try to sue for the injustice is a whole other can of worms.
Either way, that is certain to rile up many Democrats and possibly make them feel more justified to cause some stir.
All that being said, perhaps the total whitewash of the election will take away some of the desire to become violent. After all, the 2016 violence was not just about Trump winning, but also about "Russian Collusion" and the fact that so many on the left believed he won illegitimately. It is a hard case to make that Donald Trump did not win this fairly and squarely and well outside the margin of any cheating. So while the rage over the bad orang man, remains, there seems to be little reason to believe he was not legitimately elected.
What remains to be seen is how the main players in the Democratic Party approach all of this. Already some have suggested that they want to go back to that 14th Amendment insurrection clause to try to prevent his certification. There is a large faction of liberals who want to push a resistance to whatever it is that he might try to accomplish. Will anyone of importance on the left really want to reach out with the olive branch to the bad orange man.
Already there is fighting over the Pennsylvania Senate seat, where Casey stubbornly refuses to concede and some outlets stubbornly refuse to call, in spite of McCormick having what appears to be a mathematically too large to lose lead considering how few votes are left to count. Schumer is causing some issues by not allowing McCormick to participate in any of the orientations at this point, which seems more than a bit petty. This sort of behavior leads me to believe that there will be less reconciliation and more pettiness moving forward. Is that the mindset of the general population of Democrats as well?
Michael Shellenberger on X: "Our Intelligence Community is supposed protect us. Instead, it persecuted us. The CIA and FBI created the Russiagate hoax in 2016 and interfered in the 2020 elections. DHS oversaw a mass censorship effort. We still don’t know what happened J6. It’s time for truth & accountability" / X
Almost all the Capitol police injuries from smoke inhalation caused by themselves. Other than a few agitators (who largely remain unknown) the crowd was peaceful (and unarmed) until they were hit with projectiles including smoke grenades and tear gas fired on them. This created some great propaganda photos with the smoke and reactions. Some were bloodied by that and without adequate fencing this started the rush up the steps many were caught up in. And the subsequent hunting and prosecutions by juries not of their peers. We still need a real investigation though we know the J6 committee was complicit in the false narrative and should be held in account.
J6 was not an insurrection though what a democrat reaction…
I will not fire unless fired upon.
Let there be violence.
Lots and lots of violence.
And let's "Rittenhouse" these fucking assholes once and for all.
