Why are Journalists and Academics liberal?

How is it that such an overwhelming number of people in this realm of influence happen to be left wing fanatics?

One thing that I found to be inherently true is that most people on the left believe that everyone (especially children) are indoctrinated in some way or the other. They simply do not believe in objectivity or that it can even possibly exist. So, for them it is important to be in a position to control what indoctrination takes place.

Think about it. Journalism is not just moving away from the ideals of objectivity, it literally suggests that trying to be objective is dangerous and counterproductive to journalism in general. Objectively lacks control of the narrative and if you allow facts to stand without editorializing them, it just provides someone with a viewpoint that they should not be taking out of the situation. The facts themselves are creating the indoctrination in their minds, so they must be clarified into whatever liberal belief is most closely related. How else can we explain how a Hispanic shooter become a "White Hispanic" unless you are attempting to manipulate the facts into the narrative you hope to push.

Meanwhile, teachers demand that parents should have no place in what is taught to their children. Some have suggested that homeschooling is where the true indoctrination takes place. Others routinely suggest that what we consider objective subjects such as math and science are actually tools of white supremacy and are inherently racist. You cannot just teach these subjects as they have been taught in the past. Doing so will further indoctrinate children into thinking there is objectively in things and that there are actually factually true right and wrong answers. The concept of objective right an wrong is inherently designed to keep Whitey in charge and oppress the minority. We cannot have any of that.

So I guess if you believe that objectively (or even the attempt) is just another form of indoctrination, then those who can indoctrinate might as well be all in on the indoctrination. It is sort of the same logic as kill or be killed.

Now I admit that most everything we see in this world is going to be seen through a lens of our own personal perspective. The news has never been 100% objective and teachers are not robots without personal opinions that might bleed into their teaching a bit. But there is a difference between very subtle manners of almost subconsciously allowing personal bias to push something slightly one way or the other and just openly advocating for and demanding the attempt at a flat out political and social indoctrination of those a journalist or an academic is attempting to inform.

Sure, I had the biology teacher who was born again and grew up reading the editorials of the Star and Tribune. So obviously opinions were there.

But the biology teacher who suggested that the most complex aspects of biology somehow provides him with more faith that there is a god didn't change the facts of what he was teaching. He didn't suggest that life didn't start at conception or that XY chromosomes did not create our sex. He didn't offer that any of the science was wrong, because those facts upset his views. Not once did he change the laws of biology to match his religious convictions. If I read something in the Star and Tribune editorial page, I understood it to be an opinion. Now in 2024 every story in the Star and Tribute (regardless of whether is it on the front page or the editorial page) is opinion driven. Everything has the same slant that we used to get only when we went to the section where we expected it. It is literally impossible to get away from the idea that someone is trying to mold your opinion and get you to feel a certain way about the news.

Oh, and let's not forget Hollywood.

I was watching the "Good Doctor" the other night. They touched on the fairly current theme of antisemitism. One of the doctors is gay but grew up Jewish and this has been an ongoing theme. In this show he had reason to engage a Rabbi to help a dying women get married to her fiancé who was converting. While at the synagogue they ran into two men who were vandalizing the church and eventually they attacked the doctor. So we have everything here for the current event, right? Except for the fact that the two men were not depicted as any of the people currently engaging in this behavior. They were not two pro-Hamas liberal progressives. They were not Muslims who are upset with Palestinians dying. Nope. They were clearly the "White Supremist" type. Last time I checked the problems facing Jews today are not coming from the Neo-Nazi type. Even when attempting to stay current, Hollywood manages to toss in their own ignorance and bias into the concept. Have to reinforce their own stereotypes less someone get the idea that it is the left that is engaging in antisemitism.

Not sure what the solution is. I doubt many conservatives are going to start working as mainstream journalists and I doubt many conservatives are joining the teachers union. So it is still up to every day Americans to hold journalism to task with our pocketbooks and for parents to continue to fight for the right to have a say in their children's education.

Respect, not the media propaganda narrative and the picture radical lefty activists want.

They want hate and division.

There is no single solution but the trend needs to be reversed. Smaller government. More homeschooling and private schooling. Let capitalism work with less government putting their thumb on the scale. More free speech, less government regulation. Having citizens vote and control the process. Secure elections so people can trust them. Secure the border.

In other words destroy the democrat party as it exists today.

So maybe I was wrong and there is a single solution.
