Democrats are doing their best to make Biden inevitable. Should they be doing so? Is he really their best option?
While this looks like a blow out, both Kennedy and Williamson have gained five points since the previous poll, meaning Biden's support has dropped by ten percent in just a couple of week. Now quite obviously we do not know if this is actually noise, momentum, or just a natural consolidation of the numbers.
But let's say it is momentum. We know that 62% of Democrats do not really want Biden to be the nominee (numbers suggest a majority prefer someone else). So this number (62%) is likely very soft support. Maybe some of them are waiting for a better alternative. Maybe lacking a better alternative, they will move towards one of the other options. I know very little about Kennedy or Williamson. I suspect I am not alone. I also suspect that if their support increases and Biden's continues to falter, that it will become a real race and it could happen very quickly.
But just as importantly, who would the GOP prefer to run against? Would they prefer Biden and all of his known flaws? Most informed people understand that Biden did not actually win by much in 2020 (0.3, 0.5, and 0.6 in three states would have swung the election to Trump). It would only take a small percent in movement for Biden to lose in 2024. But who knows exactly what a fresh face on either side might do to the race? Unless we have the true rematch of Trump vs Biden, the dynamics could change and possibly change quite dramatically.
Perhaps the best both sides are hoping for here is that they have a smooth primary season with limited infighting and the other side ends up in a bloodbath that weakens whoever prevails. This is why the powers to be within the Democratic are trying to clear the way for Biden and why Trump is calling on DeSantis and others to provide him with the clear path. It is possible that in the closest of close races, the side that has the most unified support for one candidate might be the side who ends up in the White House.
Rat look at Cheryl, look at Cheryl, look at Cheryl..

Never lose sight of the fact that RFK Jr. is an authoritarian assbag who demands imprisoning those he deems to be climate deniers.
Somehow this was all forgotten in his redemption as a Fauci critic. Even Tucker missed it.
I'd love to see Kennedy use some force and take a stand that if the DNC is not going to have debates he will run as an Independant.
That should REALLY shake things up
that's one way Kennedy could get my vote!
Yeah, that's a mighty fine cock holster.
