The Epstein story seems to be losing steam, while the Russian collusion collusion story heats up!

Today, I only see three stories on PoliticalWire regarding Epstein. For those who believe that sounds like a lot, there have been fifty stories posted there just today alone. So only 6% of the stories are now Epstein related when just a few days ago, about half the stories were Epstein related. More to the point, none of the three stories provide anything new.

One was about the so called immunity deal with Ghislaine Maxwell (which isn't happening). One suggested that one of Trump's attorneys is focusing on the story, and the last was about a Democrat who suggested he is going to provide a "tell all" of all the research he has done regarding the "money trail" behind Epstein. Of course, a few days ago, the big story was that Epstein and Trump were both at a Party and Trump was "introduced" to a 14 year old Miss Teen candidate (whom suggested in the story that Trump did not do anything inappropriate). That gives you an idea how starved for oxygen that story is.

Meanwhile, more revelations drop every day in regards to how Obama, Brennan, Clapper, and Comey conspired to change the original intelligence reports into something more political advantageous. These are not just decades old allegations being tossed around by people who cannot prove anything. These are documents that literally prove the allegations openly and conclusively. The latest revelations are the documents showing arguments between the openly upset intelligence employees and the politically appointed leadership who are basically ordering them to include information and documents that intelligence was claiming did not meet basic tradecraft standards. In one memo, a person complained that they were told that they needed to grow beyond these standards if they wished to be promoted beyond their position. They were not only being overruled, but they were being threatened or coerced into agreeing with certain assessments. Other documents are being surfaced from people within the intelligence community who refused (even after the threats and coercion) to sign onto the new documents. The idea that this was being politicized by the political appointees in charge (Brennan, Clapper, Comey) was a widely held belief by those who had been working on this investigation.

This has led to some finger pointing. Brennan is stating (in spite of open proof to the contrary) that the Steele dossier was only included based on FBI insistence. I wonder how that will go when someone asks Comey why he and his team were the only ones pressuring everyone else to include the dossier? He obviously knows this was a team effort. Of course Comey has not been one to be jumping to network shows or cable news to revisit this. Perhaps he has had enough.

I will say that the MSM who pushed this story for the better part of three years are back in the swing of things, providing interview times for Brennan and others. Allowing them to "defend" their reporting without (of course) asking any actual questions about any of the documents that have been uncovered. They have a safe space where they can basically just lie and know that nobody there will question it. Of course, these media outlets questioning these defenses would shake up their own credibility even further. They want to believe that whatever Obama and gang did was for a good cause even as it appears to everyone to be exposed as a hoax.

At the end of the day, the truth generally wins out. Right now the left is relying on every dirty trick in the book to try to keep the truth at bay, while pushing their falsehoods. I think their efforts are going to fall short.
