Then your reality is starting to really crack
Anderson Cooper has taken a lot of heat over the CNN "treatment" of Kamala Harris. As I stated recently, the folks over at Political Wire were up in arms over this. One gay poster even suggested he was burning his Anderson Cooper book over the entire deal.
So what was Cooper's crime? He apparently asked too many hard questions, followed up when she didn't answer, and basically held her accountable for the interview. In other words, he did his job.
But doing your job in the middle of an election, when doing your job might help the bad orange man, is the wrong thing to do. You know, because objectivity and honestly are no longer traits that journalists should have. Their only goal should be to take sides and promote a particular narrative.
You have to sort of hand it to Anderson, who took his shots at the partisans over at MSNBC. This is how you eventually can turn liberal journalist back to something fairly decent. By enraging them for doing their jobs. Cooper could have sheepishly tried to walk back much of what happened or defended Harris by trying to spin in her favor, but he didn't. Instead, he stood up to the mob, which is something most of these journalists refuse to do.
Kudos to Cooper, at least for this moment.
