What to make of the argument about Harris being black?

Kamala is 50% Indian, and the rest is murky. Her father is Jamaican born, but her paternal grandmother has the last name of Finnigan and was said to be of Irish descent.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau someone from India is considered Asian, making Harris 50% Asian. Oddly if you look at her family tree, it seems to stop at her parents. Nobody wants to go any deeper than that. Not that it "should" be important whether or not her paternal grandmother is Jamaican or Irish or both. But it has become important, because in spite of being more Asian than anything else, she has always claimed to be black.

Now the argument in this case is likely that she looks Black, therefor she is Black. Treated as Black and always seen to be Black. In today's society of being allowed to redefine physical reality, this seems rather harmless in my mind. Apparently, however, there are some black people who are agitated by her identification of being black, when she is obviously less than 50% black.

Obama is half Black and half White but identifies as Black. Tiger Woods is half Black and half Asian but also identifies as black. Oddly, if being black is such an enormous disadvantage why do so many bi-racial people choose to embrace their Black heritage? I actually know several biracial people who almost always identify as whatever race is not white. The only people who seem to not keep ties with a minority race are Hispanics. Mixed race children from White and Hispanic heritage are generally the only ones who tend to identify as white, as they probably see less of a heritage difference overall. They seem the most willing to just blend in.

Reality here in the most technical of terms suggests that Harris is actually the first Asian to be a Major Party nominee for President, assuming she makes it to the ballot. Why everyone wants to argue differently is odd and should be an insult to Asians everywhere. But apparently it is agitating some in the Black community as well.

You believe After all, she is still Kamala Harris, who is simply not a good politician by any objective. A former prosecutor in California and if he debate with her.
