What people miss about the Iranian war!

Politics, name-calling, and analysis of the deal aside, these past few months changed the face of the world in real terms that cannot be overstated.

Let's start with a few realities here. The first is that the war itself can be and should be judged in many ways separate from what any final "peace agreement" looks like. Over the past year or so, the US military has stepped up big. They have sent a message to the Middle East, to Europe, to Russia and probably most importantly to China.
FAFO. Iran did and did.
Now Trump has famously stated that Iran has never won a war, but never lost a negotiation. I am sure many people (Trump critics and even Trump war hawks) will come to the same conclusion here. We won the war, but somehow lost the negotiations.
Keep in mind that the first is said and done. We wiped them out. We may have never witnessed a military crushing like we saw over the past few months. This is the military victory that Russia was hoping to enjoy over Ukraine. When you compare what we did in a matter of weeks to how Russia is struggling in what is now a years long war now, you can clearly see that the US military is vastly superior. That will make certain people (China) take pause. It has reorganized the world pecking order, like it or not Europe.
On the flip side, we really do not know what the final negotiated deal will look like and we do not know to what degree Iran will comply. What everyone knows is that if they do not comply that Trump will go back and finish the job. I can promise you this will almost assuredly NOT happen before the midterms, but by the middle of November of this year, all bets are off.
On top of showing the world what our military capabilities are, we have flipped the script on the entire oil show. The OPEC states are no longer the largest exporter of oil. We are. That is a huge deal. The three largest users of the Strait of Hormuz are UAE, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. All three have plans in place to bypass the Strait with pipelines and other alternate routes. If that takes place, then the Iranian 'leverage" of Hormuz will become non-existent. That is a long term benefit of this war, even if many would have liked to have put it off.
Lastly, it is said that as the most advanced military in the world, the US has stepped up it's defensive weaponry. Where there is room for improvement and where the focus is going to be moving forward is with the drones. While we took out the lion's share of these drones, they seem to be the future of warfare at least for some countries. The buzz is that the US has already been working extensively on drone defense, breakthroughs are happening, and will likely remain one step ahead of the rest of the world on that front. The next time we have to go back into the Middle East (whenever that is) we will likely be in a position to almost assuredly blunt the drone attacks that Iran and others are seemingly using more and more. While it was not very successful this time around, it may be even easier to dispose of next time.
So was there mistakes that took place or things I wish had been done differently? Sure. War is not an easy game and perfection does not happen in war. But there are things that cannot just be taken away here, as much as Democrats and other US hating naysayers would like you to believe differently.
