Walz now says he will work with Trump and ICE?

Seems quite different than the rhetoric he has been providing Minnesotans in recent weeks.

The irony here is that unlike Bondi and some others, Trump has not stated anything about the latest shooting other than suggesting that the underlying problem is on Minnesota politicians for pushing the rhetoric that is leading to the chaos and violence. Trump has openly stated that he is waiting for the results of the investigation to draw any conclusions, which is more prudent than either Pam Bondi calling the deceased a domestic terrorist, or Governor Knucklehead and Mayor Jacob who deemed it murder right out of the gate.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news for Walz, but Trump would not be moving Homan into Minnesota if he was planning on ceasing the operations. If Walz believes at this point that some reduction in the number of agents in Minnesota is going to appease the crazies, then he has a rude awakening coming. Likewise, if he actually starts to follow through on having Minnesota law enforcement work "with" ICE and Border Control then he will lose them all together. It remains 100% an all out war for the narrative and the narrative that Walz has been pushing is that ICE is a collection of inexperienced, untrained, fascists who are occupying his state for no good reason and the only solution is for them to tuck tail and leave. There is no way that Walz can back away from this without the narrative falling apart. How does that work anyways? Sure, they are fascists occupying our state and murdering people for no reason, but I talked to Trump and now we can work together on this? Hardly.

His statement that they are turning over all the bad guys to the DHS runs counter to what guidance Keith Ellison is on record of providing local jails and county prisons. Ellison suggests in official memos to these correctional facilities that it would be "illegal" to hold anyone with a detainer any longer than they would otherwise be held if there were not a detainer. In other words, unless there is a Federal Agent at the facility the very moment that the person is released, they are not turning them over. They are doing everything in their power to make it as difficult as they can for Federal agents to procure the arrests of these people with deportation orders.
