They will wear yellow vests to distinguish themselves from ICE?

These Minnesota National Guardsmen live, work, and serve in our state, and are focused on protecting life, preserving property, and ensuring Minnesotans can safely exercise their First Amendment rights.
If anyone from the state of Minnesota orders National Guardsmen to protect illegal immigrants or violent rioters from ICE, this would be what would constitute an illegal order. If they are there to stand between protesters and ICE, essentially keeping the protesters from actually harassing ICE, then they are doing what they should. But if the latter is the case, then their weapons and attention better be on the protesters and not Federal Law Enforcement.
Meanwhile, Trump is talking about sending in an Army Airborne division as well. They will most certainly have their attention on protesters, not on Federal Law Enforcement. Whether or not he does that is up in the air. Insurrection act anyone?
As pointed out by many, ICE is actively working without much fanfare in hundreds of counties right now. With the exception of Portland, we are not hearing about clashes with protesters or people being shot anywhere else. This is a problem specific to Minnesota, not specific to ICE. Things have gotten so bad that the one of the largest hotels in St Paul has had to close due to threats over the possibility that ICE had booked rooms there. This is right down by where I worked, and was not just a hotel, but a convention center as well. I cannot imagine how much inconvenience this has caused people.
Now granted, most of the polling will show that people are blaming ICE, but sometimes a poll matters very little. Anyone at this point who believes that ICE is going to leave Minnesota because of protests understands neither Trump nor Homan. This ends when Minnesota decides to back off. No other way works.
