These things get started based on an anonymous story or two and I suspect that things really haven't changed as much as some might believe.
Three things have happened:
Supposedly Biden has suggested to an "ally" that if things don't go well over the next couple of weeks that he might have to consider dropping out.
Supposedly about two dozen (currently unidentified) Congressmen are wiling to call on Biden to resign if they do not convince him to drop out.
The Black Caucus (and others) are demanding that all hell breaks lose if Kamala is replace by someone else. She is the next candidate in line and replacing her would be seen as racist.
Let's be clear. Kamala Harris is not a serious candidate. Up until very recently she has polled several points below slow Joe and I have yet to see a single poll showing Kamala beating Trump. In other words, Kamala at her best is still polling no better than the damaged and exposed Biden is currently. At least one could argue that Biden can recover and regain some of his support. Kamala cannot become any more serious than she is as a person over the next few months.
Moreover, at the end of the day, everyone admits the same thing. This is up to Joe Biden. If Biden stays in the race, then Democrats are going to be stuck with him and there are enough Democrats willing to stand by him to make fighting it an exercise in futility. Yes, being told by 25 Democratic Congressmen that he should resign is a blow. But that still means that a vast majority of Democrats are not part of that group.
