Update: Appeals court issues stay on judges order to dissolve Trump organization...

This one didn't even make it out of New York. I figured Trump would need to get into the Federal court system to get relief....

A New York appeals court on Friday refused to stay the ongoing civil business fraud trial of Donald Trump and his company, but did halt a judge’s order to cancel the business certificates of Trump’s companies in the state.

Friday’s ruling staying the cancellations but allowing the trial to resume came from a justice in the appellate division that handles case arising out of Manhattan Supreme Court.

The judge had basically revoked business licenses and ordered several of the Trump businesses to be dissolved. This is a ridiculous order when you consider the fact that the state cannot prove that anyone was actually defrauded or otherwise harmed in any way. I guess I am old fashioned when I believe that people should be harmed before you decide to take someone to court.

Trump had also sought to have the trial stopped, which was more than just a longshot. But i guess you might as well ask. Eventually the judge will declare Trump guilty of other things and then produce another unreasonable civil penalty that will need to be appealed again.

That being said, this is a shot across the bow of this judge who obviously is hell bent on putting the Trump organization out of business. These penalties (if enacted) would do nothing to help the state of New York and it punishes a lot of innocent New Yorkers who work for the Trump organization (there are 22,000 in all). Do these people hate Trump that much that they are willing to harm their own state and harm their own citizens in the pursuit of this silly lawsuit? Apparently they do. They are Democrats after all!
