Fanni just happened to have lots of cash to give Nate to reimburse him for trips in order to avoid conflict of interest. Of course this is large sums of cash that Fanni did not withdraw from a bank and that Nate did not deposit to a bank. Might have been left over from one of her campaigns? Oh, and she bought him a bottle wine in spite of not liking wine!
