Trump Musk feud? Why?

Tesla stock drops almost 50 points today (down 14%).

To say that these two were better off together is an understatement. Suddenly Elon is off the rails, demanding that Trump is on the Epstein list (even his own Grok says that is a crock), and that Trump should be impeached, and that we are headed for a recession. Trump then states that they should cancel all the Government contracts with SpaceX and then next thing you know....
As far as Tesla is concerned... I personally have never owned Tesla stock. There have been times when I wish I did, but at the end of the day, the concept of electric cars has always rubbed me wrong as a good investment. Sure I know plenty of people who say Tesla cars are the greatest things since jellybeans, and I have friend who just bough two of them. But with all the controversy... well.
Now Elon is not suddenly going to become poor, but he already has pissed off the left (and likely will never win them back) and now he seems intent on driving away conservatives who have been backing him. Either way, Elon decided (to some degree rightfully so) to criticize the "big beautiful bill" and Trump was having none of it. Now they are squaring off.
I don't believe Musk understands that his political popularity has been tied to Trump and not the other way around. I do believe that Musk assisted with the election, but I also believe that Trump wins in 2024 with or without Elon. Now the question comes into play whether or not Musk has any credibility left anywhere.
He doesn't seem keen on backing any Democrats, but rather he is throwing himself in line with the Rand Paul type of fiscal libertarians, suggesting that we need a "third party" made up of of fiscal conservatives. This, of course, has been an ad nauseum argument going back to Ross Perot. I simply do not see that going anywhere. Perhaps he assists in primarying some of these spendocoholics, and that might be a good thing. But I wonder where he goes from here if things don't get mended over (which of course could end up happening given these two).
As I was saying -

I've seen speculation on the right that this whole "feud" is just a massive troll to get the left to demand the release of the Epstein files.
Judge Determines Trump Will Get The Nation On Weekdays, While Musk Gets Every Other Weekend And Holidays
Scott Adams suggests that Elon Musk if Bi-Polar and was suffering from a manic phase where risk taking that would seem wildly abnormal for most people seem normal while a bi-polar is going through one of these phases. He mentions the "Epstein's client list" as something that seems indicative of Musk not being in a "normal" phase.
This makes as much sense as anything.
