Trump calls the bluff and demands congress release all of the Epstein files!

Tens of thousands of documents have already been released by the Trump Administration. This is far more than the Biden administration released.

Again, if there was damaging information about Trump in the Epstein files, there is a 99% chance it would have come out during the four years that Joe Biden and Merrick Garland ran things. The 1% is just in case that administration was so incompetent that they couldn't find any of that damaging information. There is no chance that they allowed any judges or any legal restraints to stop them from leaking damaging material.

By now Trump and Bondi have a full understanding of what is in the files. Perhaps the change in direction here is due to the fact that they are confident that these files will not harm Trump. Trump has done a pretty good job of acting like there is something to hide, but at the end of the day, why would there be anything? I suspect that Trump just wants his Congressional Republicans to follow his lead, regardless. This is probably more of a matter of principle. He doesn't want the country focusing on Epstein, so he expected everyone else to follow suit. There are some who simply won't follow. I am not sure that they are right. The right screamed for four years that Biden and Garland was covering up the Epstein files. Suddenly they are supposed to do a complete 180 because Trump says so?

The left will have a hard time spinning this, but I suspect they will start with the concept that the DOJ has scrubbed the files by now or the more recent argument that he doesn't need a congressional vote to do so. The files have been in two different administrations spanning over six years and tens of thousands of pages have been released in just the past few months. I am not even sure what people believe is left to release or why we are still arguing about it. But here we are. Trump's plan is probably politically expedient. Release everything and start a public investigation into anyone on the left that is mentioned as a potentially involved in any criminal behavior. The best defense is sometimes a good offense.
