Trump back to leading?

Either way, Trump almost won in 2020 in spite of trailing by over seven points to Biden in the RCP averages. This is too close for Biden to win the electoral college, short of the mother of all election fraud.

According to the last six polls, Trump has overtaken Biden and now leads by about 0.67% - more than enough to win the states needed to turn the tide.

Keeping in mind that Georgia has passed new election laws that will make the 2020 shenanigans virtually impossible to reproduce (thus the entire Fulton County election board resigning and being replaced). Anyone really believe that a state where the Republican Party controls the offices of governor, secretary of state, attorney general, and both chambers of the state legislature (33-23 and 102-78) continuously elects Democrats in Federal statewide races?

The Wisconsin courts declared nearly all of the Governor's actions in 2020 to be unconstitutional making it nearly impossible for them to not follow the laws moving forward. Open federal investigations in states like Michigan and Pennsylvania will add scrutiny to those operations as well. Not to say that many of these same people will not try to reproduce their 2020 magic acts of pulling Biden wins out of a hat, but it becomes harder to keep pulling the same stunts once those stunts have been called out and people are watching for them. People like the Fulton County election commission understand when their time is over now that safeguards are in place.

But it is curious that as you see more and more MSM polling suggest dire opinions about Trump due to the indictments that the head to head horse races continue to put him in front. What to make of one poll (say the ABC WaPo poll) that suggests 60% of the country will not consider voting for Trump, while you see Trump averaging about 45% in the head to head polls with 10 percent or so undecided. There is certainly a disconnect there folks.

Either way, if this polling is anywhere near close, Trump would win all the states he won in 2020, probably all the states he won in 2016, and most likely another state or two to boot. I don't see how the Democrats cheat their way out of it.
