After staunch opposition from conservatives, the anti-MAGA Minnesota Congressman who apparently is cozy with Omar and wants to abolish the electoral college has dropped out.
I believe that the major fear here was that he would get a floor vote and be pushed across the finish line from the Democrats who see him as the "least objectionable".
Couldn't take the chance of the GOP not really choosing their own candidate, so now they are back to square one. The one thing I am curious about. Why has nobody seriously considered nominating someone outside of Congress. From what I understand, it doesn't have to actually be a member of congress and people have talked about nominating Trump.
Now I don't believe Trump would be the right choice given he is running for President has a bit on his plate with all the lawsuits and criminal trials and such. But it makes you wonder if there isn't someone else they could pull into the mess to settle things down?
Tucker?
Newt perhaps?
