Riley Gaines Takes Fight for Women's Sports to the Next Level - Files Lawsuit Against Lia Thomas

Former University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines brought the fight front and center when she was forced to compete with transgender athlete Lia Thomas. Now, Gaines has upped the ante in the fight to protect women’s and girls’ sports. She recently filed a $2 million lawsuit against Thomas, who was born William Thomas, citing cheating in order to win the national women’s swimming title, and exposing himself in a female locker room.

“We were not forewarned beforehand that we would be sharing a locker room with Lia. We did not give our consent, they did not ask for our consent, but in that locker room we turned around, and there’s 6’4” biological man dropping his pants and watching us undress, and we were exposed to male genitalia.”

In case there was ever any confusion here... Thomas has not had any surgery to actually become a woman. Thomas is still a biological male with male genitalia who just happened to have taken hormone replacement treatment for 24 months. I guess that being a 6' 4" male who takes a couple of years off from being a male with full testosterone makes it fair for this person to compete with females who have been female their whole lives.

According to everyone involved with the situation, Thomas is also attracted to women (not men) making Thomas a translesbian I guess? But anyone with a penis who is attracted to females should probably not be allowed to be part of a swim team locker room. I mean, sort of impossible for that swimming suit to go on with your underwear or other clothing.

Now does the lawsuit stand a chance in hell? Well we will see. Thomas did follow the rules and I am not 100% sure what Gaines has to prove Thomas "cheated". I will have to wait to see what the legal experts say about the suit. I sort of expect that they will be skeptical. But I know one thing for sure. If she can get this before a jury, then she will likely win as between 2/3 and 3/4 of Americans are against the idea of trans women competing with biological women. Lastly... obviously Thomas probably does not have two million dollars to pay out. But I doubt that is the point.
