On one hand, they come up with new crimes for actions that have never ever been charged in the past to go after people like Trump, while providing no real explanation as to why people like Hunter Biden (or even Joe) are not charged for the same actions other people are?
Ironically one of the issues that prompted the judge to reject the plea deal for Hunter Biden was the fact that FARA charges were still sitting out there and the prosecutors had to admit exactly that. While nobody expects Hunter to be charged with FARA violations (not in a million years) the whole issue is only an issue because Robert Mueller could not find real crimes surrounding the Russian collusion special counsel. That prompted Mueller to charge a couple of Trump associates with FARA violations (along with bank and tax charges that the SEC and IRS had investigated and dismissed as not being crimes) to make it look like he was accomplishing something.
In other words, Mueller went out of his way to disregard previous investigations clearing Manafort and Gate (or at least not recommending criminal charges) and a looming statute of limitations to undergo unprecedented FARA and banking charges against people who were not otherwise under any current investigations.
But Hunter Biden managed to avoid charges that have been recommended for nearly 5 years in ongoing investigations of several felony tax, gun, money laundering, and other charges. The tax and gun charges were no-brainer dead to rights guilty as sin felony recommendations that have just been ignored for close to five years now. So would be the FARA charges if you used Trump associates Manafort and Gates as the precedent. Manafort was sentenced to several years in prison with the FARA charges being the longest sentence (other charges ran concurrently to those).
At the same time, you are now up to almost 100 different stacked up charges against former President Donald Trump on issues (NDA agreement and Presidential Records act) that have never been questioned, much less charged ever. No person has ever been charged with fraud for entering an NDA agreement and no President who has left office has ever been charged for a crime over which documents they took. Clinton won a court case that went all the way up to the DC court of appeals that provided that he (as the incumbent President) had sole determination as to what records were personal and what records needed to be turned over. Barack Obama moved hundreds of boxes of Presidential records to a warehouse in Chicago and those records included dozens of classified marked documents. No raids were done, they just separated them and secured them years later. So Trump is not the first former President to have left office with classified documents, but he is the one and only incumbent to be charged with crimes for doing so.
Meanwhile, they continue to make up excuses for how $30 million dollars from Ukraine, China and other foreign entities made it into the bank accounts of at least 9 different Bidens. They continue to make up excuses for why they have not followed up on leads that suggest 37 different recordings of now President Biden being involved in bribes from Ukraine while he was Vice President. These are very real crimes involving influence peddling, bribery, money laundering, bank fraud, tax fraud, and obvious FARA violations (while we are at it). Democrats suggest that none of this should be investigated under the pretense that influence peddling isn't always illegal?
All of this rhetoric and these excuses look like a poorly designed pretzel that ends up with way too many twists and turns.
