The whack a mole DEI game?

Apparently when Congress defunds something when there is a Democratic President, they just change the name.

GEC was supposed to be dead already. But, as many have learned the hard way, in Washington, D.C., few things ever truly die. When Republicans in Congress sunset GEC’s funding at the end of last year, the Biden State Department simply slapped on a new name. The GEC became the Counter Foreign Information Manipulation and Interference (R-FIMI) office, with the same roster of employees. With this new name, they hoped to survive the transition to the new administration. Today, we are putting that to an end. Whatever name it goes by, GEC is dead. It will not return. ...

It really feels like the Democratic deep state believes that the Trump administration would either be really stupid, would not care enough to look, or were not serious enough to take the tough action. Of course, they appear now to be wrong. As it stands, for most of the Biden administration our taxpayers were paying taxes to have the Government censor their views, and now that is coming to an end.

But Rubio was slightly smarter than Democrats were hoping, and he figured it out fairly quickly. Not just that they found it, but that they are taking the proper steps to put an end to it... at least for the next three plus years. Now for those who believe that Republicans are the ones who are looking to censor, this action proves them wrong. Rather than simply eliminate this new department, they could have just fired everyone and replaced them with conservative censors. But they didn't. They actually do want free speech.
