The TDS freakout of the day!

Is it Ukraine, is it Israel, is it deportations, is it ice? Nope... it's a ballroom!

I swear, you can't make this stuff up. Apparently this a big deal. Possibly the end of the world. You would think that no President has ever done anything like this?

Of course, many Presidents have done work on the White House. Before Teddy Roosevelt, there was no West Wing. He built it. Before FDR, there was no East Wing. Same deal. Taft rebuild the executive office to make it oval. Nixon build a bowling alley, while Obama built a basketball court. Truman remodeled the entire complex and almost gutted it down to the bare bones in doing so.

Now we can argue whether or not a bowling alley or basketball court was necessary, but as many pointed out there was very little room for larger gatherings at the White House and many times larger events were held outdoors. The idea of building a ballroom makes sense in those regards, and makes more sense than a bowling alley or basketball court. On top of everything else, Trump is financing this with private funds.

I might also point out that Trump is a developer. This is his bread and butter. I suspect when everything is said and done that the ballroom might be one of the nicer features of the White House complex. I would expect it to be done on time and under cost! More likely than not, that will probably also trigger the same people for a variety of reasons.
