If I am being honest, I do not really take this whole "classified documents" from years ago as seriously as some others seem to take it. In the case of Trump, there is almost no chance that he was personally involved in what got packed up and sent to his Mar-a-Lago secured location and in the case of Joe Biden, these documents are over 6 years old now. What I do take seriously is why this "scandal" was put on the backburner and hidden from the American public till after the midterm elections.
I understand the hesitancy of the DOJ to (for instance) make a charging decision prior to an election as that is actually them making a decision. But this information was not a decision. It was information that fell into their laps prior to the midterms and they made a conscious effort to hide it till after the mid-terms were over. To understand that nobody even bothered to "leak" the information is almost mindboggling. Everything Trump related was leaked even if it was just rumors that turned out to be untrue.
Again, while I do not necessarily take the Presidential records with a few documents marked classified to be the end of the world serious, that doesn't mean that there was not a political price for Biden (and the Democrats) to pay for their actions over the past two years regarding Trump and those documents. The entire left has been up in arms and demanding that someone having a classified document is akin to mass murder. It should been on them to explain away Biden's actions "prior" to the mid-term elections, where the implications that they were the righteous ones who stood for election integrity and security of our classified documents.
They got away with the hypocrisy of two years of questioning the 2016 election and migrating over to any questioning of any election is akin to being an insurrectionist who wants to dismantle the very concepts of elections. But that is apparently because the voters Democrats count on... have short memories. This would have been much harder to explain away as it was new news coming to light.
I am not sure how much faith I have that this process will do any good. The administration and Democrats will ignore subpoenas, they will refuse to cooperate, and there will be no legal repercussions. That being said, if this is played correctly there will be political repercussions and maybe that is even more important.
Tom Fitton on Twitter: "“If Secret Service is doing its job, there has to be visitor records,” Tom Fitton, president of conservative transparency group @JudicialWatch, told @NYPost in Oct. “If there aren’t any records, the scandal is much bigger than just a lack of transparency.” https://t.co/2zvcRPmXjZ" / Twitter
So odd.... that the media must ignore it!
Paul Sperry on Twitter: "NEW: The managing partner of Penn Biden think tank in DC where Biden had highly classified documents stashed concerning Ukraine was none other than Biden's Ukraine adviser Michael Carpenter, seen here sitting next to Schiff's Ukraine impeachment whistleblower Eric Ciaramella ..."
odd...
I saw the mayor of NYC was already down at the border looking at the wall (damn racist). To me they are going to try and tie all the failures over the last 2 years to Biden and run on fixing his problems. I suspect the mayor is positioning himself for a higher office...
I kind of agree about the Biden documents being less significant than the DOJ response but we need a bit more information as to their significance. And the DOJ is no longer seeking any real justice
What's the saying. no justice no peace ?
The GOP needs to destroy this president, this presidency, and anyone associated with it, however remotely.
Nothing short of leaving the Biden's in total ruin will suffice.
Of course the failure party, now led by Kevy McLuntz, will do nothing of the sort.
