Biden issues more cringeworthy pardons on his last day as President
Sleepy Joe decided to "pardon" General Miley, the Jan 6th committee, as well as Dr Fauci. If I was Milley or Fauci, I might be upset that I am now looked at as if I am a criminal who needed Presidential pardon.
On the flip side, it was clear that investigations into witness tampering among other things were going to be coming down on certain members of the January 6th committee. Funny how when this sort of stuff happens with a congress critter, the jargon usually has something to with an "ethics complaint" which is never really taken seriously. But witness tampering is actually a crime, and somewhat ironically it is actually a violation of the "obstruction of congress" laws which were designed not to be used when protesters protest an event, but rather designed to mirror obstruction of justice laws within a normal criminal trial. In other words, if it is illegal to do in a criminal or civil trial, then it is equally illegal to do in a congressional hearing or investigation.
Either way, as of today we will have a new President. Gone are the days of wondering who exactly is running the country. We know now that Donald Trump will be running things, along with the help of some top advisors including the richest man in the world. I figured I would throw that in there to appease the Trump administration will be an oligarchy crowd. That being said, if I were to pick which unelected American might have sway over a President, I would pick Elon Musk over Jill Biden every time.
Rumor has it that Trump will issue about 265 thousand first day executive orders. We will see how that all goes. I have heard everything from orders on TikTok, orders confirming biological differences between men and women, an order declaring an emergency at the border, and some goodies for the crypto crowd as well.
