Tariffs created a surplus in June!

Could earn as much as 3 trillion dollars over the next 10 year budget cycle.

So was looking at some things, tariff-wise and it occurred to me that there had been a lawsuit (go figure) stating that Trump overstepped his authority by creating the tariffs that has led to most of these trade deals. While that was stayed as it moved through the courts, there is a chance that it could still come back on some of these tariffs and quite frankly, not sure how that works.
On the flip side, the trade deals that he signs with other countries appear to be legally bullet proof, as executive deals are not subject to judicial review. So whatever tariffs have been agreed upon between countries will remain intact. So even if some earlier tariff money would need to be returned to foreign countries, the new tariffs moving forward would continue to collect. If I was a betting man, I would think that once the temporary tariffs have all been replaced that the original lawsuit might just go away as moot. It would seem more trouble than it would be worth to try to figure out how to "refund" tariff money that has already been collected.
Either way, it is possible that we will see smaller deficits than people are predicting, especially if the interest rates are dropped and the economy picks up steam. At the end of the day, there is a method to the Trump madness, and one only hopes that certain people can finally come to terms with that.
Cynical Publius on X: "I am so sick and tired of Democrats claiming there is no “there” there with respect to Russiagate. If you are such a Democrat, please take the following quiz (and if you have friends or family who are Democrats, please share): 1. Was the "Steele Dossier” a fabrication designed" / X
And here it is: Twenty years in the making,
Georgia’s Dominion Rigging Systems DECLARED WRONG WINNER for the May 22, 2024 DeKalb County, Georgia District 2 Commission Primary.
A decision by the election board was made to do a HAND RECOUNT to ensure accurate results of the election. It only became known because a candidate received no votes in the precinct where she and her husband lived and voted. When she reported the problem to the DeKalb Election Board, they ordered a machine recount that produced the SAME RESULTS AGAIN. They then conducted a hand count of the race that proved the voting system shorted the candidate 3049 of her actual 4078 votes, over 74% of her total…
