T-Wolves end the Laker season!

Buh-bye LeBron and Luka and all those deep Laker run predictions!

Everyone (and I mean everyone) had predicted the Lakers to go deep this year. In the ESPN panel, not a single person had the Wolves winning the series (in spite of only a one game separation in the regular season record). Most had the Lakers winning in five or six games, so they didn't believe that the T-Wolves even were going to provide much trouble for the glamourous Lakers and their superstar duo. There was also more money bet on the Lakers to win the championship than any other team in the NBA.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the dream Laker run... LeBron showed his age and Luka showed why he was traded by Dallas (lack of conditioning and effort). All the talent in the world doesn't matter if you do not have the energy and endurance down the stretch. The much younger Wolves manages to beat the Lakers like a drum in every fourth quarter of the series and that was the difference maker.
Ironically it was the Timberwolves, not the Lakers who made it to the conference finals last year. Oh and they won 21 of their past 26 games now. But somehow nobody quite remembers that.
And on a similar note:
Edmonton Oilers on X: ""We should be proud of this one, LA's a great team. Not easy to beat a team four years straight." For the fourth consecutive year, the #Oilers have defeated the LA Kings & advanced to the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. @paigymartin has your @Scotiabank Perks summary. https://t.co/UPP4Ze39Dt" / X
Even crazier is how much money they make these days. LeBron has an option for like $50 million for one year. They are talking about salaries now that would make Kevin Garnett blush and feel like he was making minimum wage.
I really don't watch the NBA. But I was desperately rooting against the Lakers even more than I was rooting for the T-Wolve (my old Minny team).
I find it hard to watch players drive 15 feet down the lane without dribbling the ball. There once was a time when "traveling" was actually called. Imagine if players today were not allowed to move a pivot foot or take more than 1 and 1/2 steps. Most couldn't play.
WOW, I looked at the box score and Minnesota shot 7 for 47 from 3-point land.
Lakers were 11 of 37. You would think the result would have been opposite.
Didn't watch and until your post hadn't even been aware of the game.
The NBA sure has gone downhill and woke.
Last NBA game I saw Dominique Wilkins was posting up with Barkley as a ‘76er.
That was ENTERTAINING
