So the truth about Nex (Dagney) Benedict comes out and it is not pretty for our god awful media.

Nex was sexually abused by her biological father, who had just gotten out of prison a few weeks before her suicide.

Nex was bi-polar, suffered from depression, was into self abuse (cutting), and had been sexually abused (including anal rape) by her biological father starting at the age of nine.

Moreover, there is little evidence to suggest that Nex was bullied for her gender choices and much evidence to suggest that she had been considering suicide for some time for completely unrelated reasons.

It turns out that Nex lived with her aunt because her biological father went to prison for his abuse of Nex. She suffered horrible childhood trauma that would likely turn almost anyone inside out. The fact that she decided to change her sexuality seems like it just might have been some sort of defense mechanism from her distrust of men and her horrible sexual abuse experiences. It is not known if she knew that her father had just gotten out of prison, but she had left notes suggesting that any potential suicide would be driven by family matters. According to doctors, she took upwards of a 100 Benadryl pills.

But as Nex's family tried to digest the fact that this troubled young child decided to take her own life, after spending a horrific childhood as a victim of sexual abuse, our liberal press was out there trying to make her out as a martyr for the LGBTQ community. According to many liberals, Nex had been literally murdered by conservative bigots who beat her to death in a bathroom. The reality (according to everyone including Nex) was that she started the fight and was the one who first became violent. This is not unexpected as many bi-polar people tend to have more of a "fight" that "flight" reaction to confrontation. Given her other issues and history, it seems likely that she was the one lashing out rather than suffering from being bullied. This is not condemnation of Nex. Simply pointing out that troubled youth can do troubling things.

But the horrible question still remains. Why does the press take every and any opportunity to exploit things they know nothing about and twist them into political messages? Is it because if they didn't continuously make shit up, they would have nothing to report?
