Apparently, the new argument from leftist legal scholars is that Cannon's decision to dismiss the case was so bad that the appeals court will have her replaced with a new Judge who will makes sure this case gets tried before November!
Um, I hate to break it to anyone, but Smith's appeal might not even be ruled on by November. If this is appealed to the USSC, then there is a pretty good chance that Smith will not even be a special prosecutor anymore.
Now, I get it. The left will argue that Trump has no right to fire the man looking to prosecute him, just because he can. But the problem with that argument is that if Trump is elected President, then the people will have spoken, and it would be painfully obvious that the country would not want the prosecution to continue. Perhaps if he loses, Smith can go till the end of time.
But how full of you know what, do you have to believe that Cannon dismissing the case is something that will speed up a trial?
