Saturday morning feel good post

Ford steps up to help a dying cancer teen.

My first thought when I saw this was that Ford paid for the Mustang or something of that nature. But while that would have been nice for the parents (who will end up having to pay for the car) it wouldn't have really done much for the son.

Instead, they got a reply back from the CEO of Ford:

Hi Joe, I’m so sorry to hear what your family is going through. Please let me know if you and your son would like to attend @FPRacingSchool to experience a @FordMustang Dark Horse on the track.

DM me and we’ll make it happen.

What can you truly give someone who is dying and has a limited time to live? How about an experience of a lifetime! If the boy is truly a car buff and wanted a sports car and loves the rumbling of the engine, well isn't this a dream come true. Hell, I would love the chance to take my own car on a racetrack, much less a Mustang Dark Horse.

Bottom line: an experience is something he can still enjoy in a manner that he would not be able to enjoy for just getting something for free. This was a perfect jester on the part of Ford. I hope everything happens for the boy.

Btw, like many of my generation I once owned a Ford Mustang. Actually, the car was more of a luxury feature driven car (in comparison) versus a true sports car. Maybe a muscle car, but not any faster than the 400 cc Pontiac Catalina I drove. It certainly would not have competed with my similar aged 280Z in any sort of race. But there was always something special about the 60's and 70's Mustang.

I’ll just leave this hideous pic here

Ford damn ruined the Mustang in the mid 70’s just like they did the Thunderbird
