Will 2023 be an eventful year without an election? Well here are my predictions.
Trump will be indicted
Lets start off with an easy one. Donald Trump will be indicted by Special Council Jack Smith. While I don't believe that he necessarily should be indicted, the fact is that there is a path to indictment so they will take it. I simply find it almost impossible to see Jack Smith (who is a known bulldog as it pertains to prosecution) passing this by.
Don't expect it to be about Jan 6th. That one might prove difficult. Expect Smith to go after the easier case regarding classified documents.
Georgia will win the National Championship.
Speaking of Bulldogs, let's continue with another easy one. Georgia will win the National Championship is my token sports prediction. They will beat TCU by 3 touchdowns or more. Too much talent and too much experience in big games.
Their win over Ohio State was the real national championship game. All they need to do is show up and avoid a complete and total letdown and they add another championship trophy to the trophy case.
Twitter will continue to set records for users and activity
The rumors of Twitters demise are obviously exaggerated. Twitter usage continues to go up, there will be no major issues with racism or hate speech and eventually the advertisers will come back.
Elon Musk will continue to be attacked non-stop by the left and he will continue to troll them with polls and sassy tweets in response.
Certain people will continue to call me names and then want to join CHT
Overall I think 2023 will bring stability to the forum and hopefully things will settle in. Perhaps pick up some additional members to add some variety. By the end of 2023 this site will likely be upgraded and using an actual domain again.
However, certain people will not be included in 2023 or beyond.
The economy will remain problematic
If you put a gun to my head, I would suggest that the safest prediction will be that the left will continue to tell us things are great and we will argue more about the definition of recession. The fact that we will be arguing about it, means that the economy will remain sluggish and inflation will remain stubborn. Interest rates at the levels they are right now will impede buying anything on credit and encourage saving.
Many analysts are suggesting that the market is undervalued and a good investment. I suspect that the markets will continue to struggle in 2023. That doesn't mean we should not invest. Just means that nobody will get rich doing it straight up this year.
Kevin McCarthy becomes the Speaker of the House
Sure, there is some opposition right now. But I seriously doubt that the GOP will allow a Democrat to become speaker. Look for some compromises to be made and look for a few of the hardcore anti-McCarthy Republicans to vtote "present" rather than vote for McCarthy. Just don't expect that there will be enough present votes for Hakeem Jeffries to sneak out a victory. At the end of the day, there doesn't seem to be any viable alternatives.
Biden will announce that he will run for a second term
Not many really want him to run, but what is the alternative? Pete Buttigieg? Kamala Harris? Hillary? The coldheartedtruth is that the Democrats have a weak bench. Given the realistic possibility that things will likely get better prior to 2024 which gives Biden a talking point of sorts, he might be the best option.
But the true reason he will run is that those who are controlling the puppet strings want to keep controlling them. They won't have that same power over anyone else.
Nancy Pelosi will announce that she will not run for reelection
Somewhere during 2023 Pelosi will announce that she has had enough and we can all start with the goodbye Nancy tour.
2023 could be a troublesome year with all of the investigations she will have to criticize and all of the subpoenas she will have to ignore. I am tempted to say that 2023 might be the year she just steps away, but I suspect she will stick out this term.
I will buy a new guitar (or at least new to me)
Been looking at the classic Gibson Les Paul or possibly a custom shop guitar like the Novo pictured here. Been playing mostly my 50's style Fender Telecaster on my Custom 30 Peavey Tube amp but looking for something with some beef to go with the twang of the Tele.
The Novo (even used) start at around three grand so that may be for a different year. Played the smokehouse burst Les Paul Studio the other day and really liked it. As they say with guitars. You don't find them, they find you. That is what happened with my Tele. I suspect it will happen again. Hopefully in 2023.
Yeah... better than 6 views and 41 comments which used to be the case!
I predict that Alky Fetterman will continue to bombard your inbox with demands to post here. It's obvious that it's driving him fucking crazy.

Being reported that Gen Milley hid the nuclear codes from President Trump while holding secret calls with China. Shall we define this as treason?
Back from So Cal and Hermosa Beach agrees with your DAWGS prediction
Newsome vs DeSantis would be the literal Democratic run California vs Republican run Florida. There is literally nothing that Newsome could beat DeSantis on other than initiation of costly and failed woke policies. DeSantis would be a no brainer. Or should be.
But then again... the Democrats elected a no brainer as Senator of Pennsylvania.
