Political happiness gap!

It's become very real over the past few years.
Overall the gap is basically fifteen points. As in 15% more conservatives than liberals consider themselves to be happy. Of course, there are other gaps as well. Men are happier than women, older people are happier than younger people. Higher educated people are happier than lower educated people.
If you drill into the survey further, religious people are happier than non-religious people. Married people are happier than single people. People with children are happier than those without. Heterosexuals are happier than those who consider themselves something other. Richer people (gasp) are happier than poorer people.
The only one that surprised me was that people who pay attention to the news, pay attention to politics and are on social media are actually happier than those who are not. That seems a bit counterintuitive. I would have thought that ignorance would be bliss in this case.

People who pay attention to the news might be happier because Trump has been performing well, much better than I expected. He sure learned a lot from the first term.
