Pelosi falls down and goes boom

It has nothing to do with an 84 year old women insisting on wearing four inch heels to make her look younger

Ms. Pelosi tripped going down marble stairs at the Grand Ducal Palace and took a hard fall, according to a person familiar with the incident who was not authorized to comment and spoke on condition of anonymity. 

People close to Ms. Pelosi in California and Washington, D.C., speaking on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak for her, said the former speaker fractured her hip when she fell. They said doctors were confident the damage could be repaired with a routine operation, but it was not yet clear whether that would be done in Luxembourg or in the United States.

I believe that the old hip fracture is a staple injury among senior citizens, and certainly Congresswoman Nancy can be fairly described as a senior citizen at age 84. It seems like both of my grandmothers and a couple of aunts and uncles ended up with similar injuries when they got into their late 70s and 80s. Not saying Pelosi isn't in good condition for someone of that age (she seems to be in excellent shape for 84), it is just that father time has a way of catching up with people. Even those in important positions.

There is speculation that this injury can be fixed with surgery and she could be back on her feet in the near future. At this time nobody is saying whether she can leave Luxemburg (where this took place) before having the surgery. She may need to have it there. It does make the reality of how old our political leadership is smack us all right across the face.
