Open Minnesota Senate race

The biggest names floated - Tim Walz and Ilhan Omar

Senator Smith has decided not to run for reelection opening up an open seat in a somewhat purple states. If you do not know who Senator Smith from Minnesota is, well don't be alarmed. She isn't exactly a household name and she hasn't exactly made a big splash. Probably the biggest news she has ever made was deciding not to run for reelection.

Obviously I would suspect that Tim Walz might be a better option than Ilhan Omar, but in Minnesota you never know what might happen. The old knucklehead assistant high school football coach didn't exactly shine bright in his national debut and many (probably even some in Minnesota) blame him for the Harris loss just because he was such a poor running mate. Whether that dilutes his support from Minnesotans is another question. If he runs, gets the nomination, then he would likely be a heavy favorite to be Senator knucklehead. Personally I would be rooting for the Democrats to do something more dramatic and nominate Omar to be the Democratic Senate candidate. While it has been a day or two since the Republicans have won a Senate seat in Minnesota, they just might be able to defeat Omar. At least one would hope they could defeat Omar.

Winning a congressional seat in a high Somalian area is one thing, winning a statewide race running on a hatred of Israel is probably not a winning ticket in most anywhere in this country right now.
