Newsom and wife under investigation

He blames Trump because he is dishonest to the core....

There are actually at least two or three different investigations surrounding Newsom, his wife, and some of his political aides. These investigations date back to 2022, long before Trump was even in office a second time.

His wife (and by proxy Gavin) are under investigation for various tax issues, including the ever popular owning two houses that are both garnering special mortgage status of being primary residents. There is also an issue of how a 9 million dollar home was bought and paid for. Documents suggest that it was listed as part of an LLC in the name of his wife Jennifer, however the documents suggest it was part of this LLC before the LLC was actually legally created. If that seems puzzling, well it should. Lastly, Jennifer Newsom and her LLC has been paid between three and four million dollars by non-profits funded by the state of California. That means the Newsoms directly profited from state funds that were ultimately signed into law by Newsom himself. I suspect that laws were broken (if this can be proven) on top of the ethical problems raised.

Meanwhile, a former Newsom Chief of Staff has just pled guilty for using campaign funds for personal gains. Now obviously this may or may not have anything to do with Gavin, but he decided to blast out regarding these investigations coincidently timed to respond to the plea in question. One must believe that there is a distinct possibility that this will blow back on him, thus the public rebuttal. Between these campaign slush funds and NGOs there seems to be an abundant supply of personal gain that can be achieved by dancing around the laws just so. But with this becomes an arrogance that pushes people to dance just a bit too far.

Now it is also possible that this is all coincidence. That his chief of staff was found guilty of something Newsom had nothing to do with and that the investigation into his wife's finances have some ties to the current DOJ. However, all of the documents involve suggest that even the tax investigations were initiated at the state and not federal level. At least for now, there is little to no evidence that Trump or his DOJ had anything to do with these investigations being opened. Whether or not they decide to jump in and pile on more resources is another question. But that is not the allegation that Newsom is making.

Either way, does it seriously matter? The Democrats are running a Nazi who has been credibly accused of relationship abuse, cheating on his spouse, and using social media sites that cater to people who want to exploit younger (or even under age) girls. If they have no problems with that, why would cheating people out of taxpayer money or not paying your taxes matter to Democrats?
