My one thought on 9-11...

This seemed to be the only time in my life where I remember everyone coming together as a country with a common purpose.

Maybe it is not my only thought, but it is the one thing that really sticks out for me long term. Yeah, we were attacked on our own soil. Yeah, 3000 people were killed. Yeah, it started a war in the Middle East that we never really seemed to finish. But the one thing that it proved is that 90% plus of this country was capable of coming together for the sake of national pride and national unity. I often wonder if that will ever, ever, be possible again or it the same set of circumstance would have united us today?

Unfortunately I think not.
