Minnesota Senate restores pro-pedophile language in public safety bill
The law does not SAY pedophiles are a protected class, but pedophilia is classified as a “paraphilia” and hence a sexual orientation. Human Rights law makes sexual orientation a protected category.
That’s a long way of saying that pedophiles become a protected class, because, well, they do. That is why the original language exists in the law, to ensure that people can express their disgust with pedophilia without facing legal consequences.
So what has happened to Minnesota? They are still primarily a purplish state, but the razor thin majority of Democrats is going to town, doing their best to push the most leftist agenda ever in that state. Everything is woke, liberal, authoritative, and moving towards crazy. They have made the national news over the past couple of years for a variety of crazy stunts, but this one might just top the list.
So basically the law allows for those who identify as having "minor attraction" to be considered a protected gender identity. The House apparently stripped the bill of the language, but the Senate reinserted it in their latest draft that they apparently want the House to sign off on.
Now Democrats are arguing that this does not make sex with minors legal. Just that someone who is attracted to minors and is open about it as an identity, cannot be discriminated against for holding that "identity". So a daycare center could not use the idea that a potential employee is someone who has "minor attraction" as a reason not to hire them. Ouch!
Where does this come from? The overwhelming (and odd) need for liberals to convince children that they are not just normal average everyday heterosexual people is pretty much running over everything else. Seriously folks. You cannot run very long with the argument that children are mature enough to make a choice on taking puberty blockers, taking hormone treatments, or having a sex-change surgery and still argue that they are too immature to consent to sex.
To have a 12 year old able to give consent or make sex-change decisions probably leads to a potential argument that we need to allow 12 year old children to vote as well. Children and those who behave as such are whom the left most directly appeals to. The younger the better. If you allowed 12-17 year old children to vote, that just pushes the country even further left. Imagine all the free stuff that Democrats could offer them!
It's a dangerous path here folks... and the left is becoming more and more open about their true intentions everyday.
