Trump claims victory - liberals trying to suggest differently
Lots of news this morning. The markets opened up down several hundred points down and is now almost even on the news that the Mexican tariffs will not be gong into place this week. While some on the left are admitting this was another cave by another leader who didn't have the courage to stand up to Trump, many others are suggesting that he is just "declaring" victory after getting little more than "scraps".
Rumors are he is in conversations with Canada and President Justin. Over the weekend there was some coordination between Mexico and Canada to sort of stay in lock-stop on this one, but that does not appear the case. The Canadians are now on their own for now, and we will see what Justin decides to do. While it is pretty easy for Mexico to do something tangible (10,000 troops is tangible) I am not sure that Canada can do anything similar. Much different border and much different situation. I would be curious as to what Trump is "specifically" asking Canada to do?
