McDonald’s said Monday it will retire specific goals for achieving diversity at senior leadership levels. It also intends to end a program that encourages its suppliers to develop diversity training and to increase the number of minority group members represented within their own leadership ranks.
McDonald’s said it will also pause “external surveys.” The burger giant didn’t elaborate, but several other companies, including Lowe’s and Ford Motor Co., suspended their participation in an annual survey by the Human Rights Campaign that measures workplace inclusion for LGBTQ+ employees.
McDonalds is the latest large company to decide to stop kneeling at the alter of the woke. This has become an epidemic of companies abandoning the woke culture in favor of some thing more transparent and grounded. Something rooted in the principals of what this country was founded on. More to the point, being woke in 2025 is a bad business proposition. Now that we no longer has an administration hell bent on pushing this nonsense through executive actions, legislation, and lawsuits, there doesn't appear to be much incentive to follow through with it anymore.
Amazingly, many of these large woke companies have come to realize through interactions with employees and customers that pretty much nobody really likes the concepts of DEI other than the far left woke politicized portion of our population. Of course, this isn't really amazing at all. Most of the corporations were openly honest about the fact that DEI wasn't really going to drive business. People like Parag Agrawal, the CEO of Twitter when Musk bought the company, were open about the idea that profits were not a real consideration when there was so much woke politics to bring to the corporate vision. Real leadership from the younger generation of CEOs were not going to rely on the concept that a company needed to make any money to survive. It just needed to have a good work environment for the hand picked people that leadership suggested should be paid a good salary for drinking free expresso and taking naps. If they paid homage to the current politically correct concepts, then all would somehow be well. Apparently money would drop from trees to keep the company afloat while it lost money and the stock prices plummeted.
Either way, McDonalds was not the first and it will not be last major corporation to do away with this woke mentality. If the election of Donald Trump does nothing more than drive the final nail into that coffin, it will have been a successful Presidency.
Whatever he ends up doing, naming/renaming, acquiring... 47 is going to be fucking LIT.
I hope he renames The Atlantic, The American Ocean and The Pacific, The Other American Ocean
