Maine SOS decides on her own that Trump is guilty of insurrection...

Even Maine Democrats are taking issue with this decision.

Even if one was dumb enough to believe that the unarmed protesters of Jan 6th were actually looking to stage a coup and take over the Government, Donald Trump wasn't even a part if it?

The argument we keep hearing from the left is that even though he told people to be peaceful, respect the blue, and issued statements asking people to not riot, he is accused of "inciting" the riot, under the concept that he understood that if he sent people to the capital that they would be violent.

Now did this same logic apply to Hillary Clinton or Democrats in 2017 when riots broke out all across America because they demanded that Trump stole the election with the help of the Russians? Certainly they knew that if they invited tens of thousands of people to protest at the capital that rioting would break out (as it did). But that didn't produce any calls from anyone to charge them with crimes. This is just classic hypocrisy that seems to follow Donald Trump around like a shadow.

But even if you can bridge the logical gap between telling people to be peaceful and then demanding that those calls incited a riot, incitement of a riot is not the same as participating in a riot. Not to mention that of the rioters who have been charge, not a one has been charged with insurrection. So if Donald Trump was not personally involved in the riot, and nobody in the riot was charged with insurrection, how do you get from point A to point B here? How you declare him guilty of an insurrection?
