Love this quote about Penn State President explaining why they have to allow free speech!

I remember a time when university presidents didn’t have to explain the first amendment as if talking to kindergartners.

I would argue with more than a bit of seriousness that you would have much better luck explain the first amendment to kindergarteners than college students these days. At least the kindergarteners would not see themselves as knowing better and might listen.

But college students these days really don't understand (much less care about) free speech. They quite literally believe that their violence is free speech, but that speech they do not like is not free. It's an interesting perspective, but not one that will wear well for them once they get out in the real world.

One of the other videos shows one student knocking all of the fliers and such off a table while a second student walks up and flips the table over. They then seem to not understand why the police come to detain them. They keep asking if they are being detained (as if the police have no right to detain them) and then if they are being arrested. They seem more than a bit shocked when the cop simply answers... yep. They are cuffed and led away in a police car. I am sure they figured that this clever questioning of authority would get them to back off. When asked what they were being arrested for, the cop stated disorderly conduct for now. A subtle warning that resisting arrest was the next thing up. Will they be prosecuted? Doubtful. But at least they got hauled away and possibly learned that being a pompous smart ass does not protect you from the police.
