Nathan Wade provided a sworn affidavit that he had not cohabitated with Fani Willis, a statement that has been found disastrously false.
“In Paragraph 31 of your affidavit, you swore that you have never cohabitated with Ms. Willis but the attached documents show you shared a king size bed with her in Aruba from November 1, 2022 until November 4, 2022,” the filing reads.
“Additionally, witnesses will testify that you cohabitated with Ms. Willis at her home in South Fulton until her father moved in with her and you then began to cohabitate at the apartment of a friend of hers in East Point,” the filing continues. “Additionally, witnesses will testify that you cohabitated with Ms. Willis at an AirBNB in Hapeville that was paid for by tax payer money to serve as a ‘safe house’ for you and Ms. Willis.”
This is called a fraud on the court and perjury.
All of this is in response to suggestions that Wade was hired due to sexual cronyism and is otherwise not qualified to handle a complicated prosecution given his history as a civil attorney who has no experience in criminal racketeering cases. According to records Wade and his firm work mainly in family, real estate, and contract law and in recent years Wade has been mostly chasing down allegations of racial discrimination.
He was accused of (and is now admitted to) being Willis's lover and according to records filed for divorce only one day after being appointed as special counsel to this case. He has since billed the state of Georgia over $650,000 in fees, and the Government has also apparently paid for Willis and Wade to shack up together in what they refer to as a "safe house" to strategize their prosecution.
Now had you asked anyone a few years ago if this sort of situation would be hypothetically considered okay, pretty much everyone would have given you a very loud and emphatic hell no. It's only under the pretense of involving the "bad orange man" that people lose their objectivity and reasonableness. Because it involves Trump, there is no issues of impropriety that would ever override the noble cause of bringing him down by any means possible.
I think it is clear to most legal people that even if Willis and Wade can get a conviction that the case is fraught for legal appeals and could run into serious problems once it gets out of Fulton County. The idea is to hold the trial to harm Trump politically, and ultimately any conviction (overturned or not) would be gravy.
If this was a serious attempt at a serious criminal case that they believed had any merit outside of Fulton County, why put a civil attorney with no experience in charge? The reason is that Fani Willis is corrupt and decided to enrich her new lover which would obviously benefit her financially if they were to enter into a serious relationship.
Fani Willis is using her government position to push a political prosecution and potentially enrich herself in the process. If that is not corrupt, then I don't know what is. The question is whether a highly partisan judge is willing to do what is right, rather than what is politically prudent for the political cause.
