Is war with Iran imminent?

If the Israel Hamas war widens to include Iran or others, this would be a foreign policy disaster for Biden and Democrats.

So the buzz is that our friendly neighborhood radical Islamic military power is thinking about attacking Israel. Doesn't that make everyone feel warm and cozy? The two questions (of course) is how will the rest of the world react to this and how specifically will Biden and our Administration will react. My best guess is that most will do everything in their power to avoid escalating the conflict any further and Biden will likely fecklessly go along with that stance.

That being said, the reasoning for Biden (politically and otherwise) is the pretense that innocent displaced and oppressed Palestinians have been dying at the hands of the evil Israeli soldiers and they need to be stopped. But there would be no such real concern for Iranians if Iran decides to get involved. We inherently understand that those "pro-Hamas" people are actually "anti-Israel" antisemites and will likely cheer the involvement of Iran to escalate the war. However, there is no real good reasoning for Iran to get involved other than to escalate things (which many believe was the goal of Hamas all along).

More to the point, there is a big difference between Israel going into Gaza and them defending themselves from Iran. So in many ways, this would be the "calling of the bluff" so to speak for those who suggest that this isn't about antisemitism or anti-Israel views, but rather about the poor oppressed Palestinians. If this same pro-Hamas movement suddenly becomes pro-Iran as well, then there can be no hiding of their real intentions.

But lastly, according to Democrats who are still following the lead of Barack Obama way back when, Iran is our friend in the region. If we ended up on the opposite sides of a war with Iran, how dumb will all of these nuclear agreements become, given we supposedly agreed to them because we could trust that Iran was our ally.

This thing is becoming more and more complicated for Democrats. The more it escalates the harder it becomes to keep both the coalition of Muslims and the coalition of Jews under the same Party tent. Eventually Dems will have no choice but to pick a side and likely lose many votes from the side they go against.
