Is Biden going to lie during the SOTU address? Of course he is!

Six lies Biden will tell in his State of the Union

Stephen Moore at the NYP provides an exact list of six whoppers Biden will tell:

1. Biden has reduced the budget deficit by $1.4 trillion.

2. Biden inherited an economy in freefall.

3. Inflation was high when Biden entered office.

4. Biden has brought down gas prices.

5. Biden is doing all he can to secure the border.

6. Biden is increasing domestic oil and gas production.

Now if you go read the article, Moore explains these all in detail. But some of this are obvious lies, others are semantic versions of disinformation. Biden loves disinformation, almost as much as he enjoys lying!

For example, we saw a huge one time deficit issue in 2020 because of Covid and Covid relief. While we are spending less than we did in 2020, Biden has added more to the national debt in two years than any other President has in four. In terms of the economy, we had a rough beginning of 2020, but we had already started to see huge recovery in the second half of 2020. It only got worse after Biden took the reigns. Gas prices were certainly higher than they are today. But they are still higher today (by almost 40%) than they were when Biden took office.

One could see a "semantic" argument that some of these statements are true in the most technical sense. But the underlying messages: That Biden is controlling spending, that the bad economy was already in place when he took over, and that he has lowered gas prices from the Trump years... are all flat out wrong. Something that is "technically" true depending on how you word it, while suggesting something other than what your words actually say is disinformation.

The other three are just flat out lies. Inflation was not high when Biden took office. He is doing nothing to secure the border and the numbers support that fact. There has been no increase in domestic and gas production by any real means of measurement. Not sure why Biden believes he can just flat out lie. But he has been doing it now for two years.
