Is a shut down inevitable?

There do not appear to be any cracks in the GOP stance here and Democrats are loath to be seen as caving in again.

So I think we should start banking on a government shut down and I think we should start banking on some really silly rhetoric over the issue.

This is simple. Democrats lost the election and they don't like the budget passed by the GOP. Now they want to push their will onto the majority to make them "change" things that have already been passed. While there is no logical reason for the GOP to change the budget that was passed, Democrats are trying their typical group think ad nauseum strategy of repeating something over and over and over, hoping people start to believe it is true. Right now they are concentrating their efforts on trying to make people believe there is a Healthcare crisis, because there were cuts to certain benefits. The GOP cut out aid for illegals, they increased the work standards for the unemployed to keep garnering insurance, and certain subsidies tied to these groups will be cut. There is nothing here that will increase insurance rates for a normal person. Any increase in insurance rates will be for the same reasons they keep increasing... the Affordable Care Act.

So what happens here? I have no idea. I doubt that the GOP is going to cave here and there are already some Democrats looking to save face and not shut down the Government. I am not sure there are enough of them right now. But if Trump uses a shut down to his advantage and starts chopping deep state workers and cutting more fat from the government it seems logical that some may start to panic a bit. If you put a gun to my head, I would say that Democrats cave here... but shut down long enough to suggest they gave it a fight.

I think Trump is almost hoping for a shutdown. Looks like Dems get blamed, supposedly 100,000 gov employees are going to quit over this and then Trump can layoff tons more because of the situation. Win/win/win. Still not tired.
