Apparently, Iran blew their wad with those missile and drone attacks.
Update: US knew about this attack and tacitly approved it as long as it stayed within limits? How is that possible?
Hands up! Don't Shoot!
Well Iran has seen enough. They sent a bunch of missiles and drones over to Israel that were pretty much shot down with rare exception. Only some minor damage to on military base and a child was wounded from some shrapnel. Now they say that they have made their point.
The only remaining question will be whether or not Israel retaliates. Certainly, our crackpot foreign policy team will try to convince them to stand down, but whether Netanyahu is willing to just let this go is another topic of discussion.
Iran, of course, is making all sorts of defensive threats. They are not only threatening Israel if they were to retaliate, but they are openly threatening to target US military bases in the region if the United States does get involved.
Meanwhile, the official line right now is for the "international community" to come together and come up with a "diplomatic response" to this act of war. That is sort of par for the course. I suspect that Iran may have already faced some real consequences at this point had we had a different (slightly more orange) President. Something quick and decisive would have likely been the call.
I couldn’t get that damn carpet to levitate much less fly and didn’t see any curly toed slippers. The hookah only had tobacco, I was a little disappointed
I will admit I was careful of every backpack I saw last week.
Every time I see a moose-limb in a hijab my first thought is to try and guess the blast radius and where I stand in relation to it.
Oh and BTW my daughter’s boyfriend is a Jew, dinners will be fun
I was at the ATL Persian festival with my wife, son and his Persian GF, last Sunday. Her dad left when the Shah was overthrown went back a few years later for his arranged marriage and brought his bride to the states. The kids were born here.

Middle East de-escalation efforts
Earlier this week, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken spoke to Fidan to make clear that escalation in the Middle East was not in anyone's interest.
"Iran informed us in advance of what would happen. Possible developments also came up during the meeting with Blinken, and they (the US) conveyed to Iran through us that this reaction must be within certain limits," the source said.
