In the news again!

After years of fighting antisemitism at her alma mater, Oberlin College graduate Melissa Landa has finally had a breakthrough. In September, the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) of the U.S. Department of Education (DOE) announced it is investigating the charges she filed against the school back in 2019.

Thanks to a Trump-era executive order, the OCR probe could cost the school millions of dollars in federal funding.

Legal Insurrection readers have had a break from nonstop news about Oberlin, whose six-year court case with Gibson’s Bakery was doggedly covered here until it ended last December. But this high-stakes legal battle puts the school back in the spotlight.

Yes, apparently the rot is deep over at Oberlin, just as it seems deep in many college campuses these days. After quite a few years of fighting off the lawsuit over their treatment of local businesses and specifically Gibson bakery, the college is heading right back to court. The sad part about all of this is that Oberlin obviously has not learned any lessons and my gut feeling is that many of these colleges don't care to learn any lessons at all. Part of the culture of these colleges is the concept that their students should be allowed to get away with whatever they want under the guise that they are fighting oppression or otherwise are triggered by something beyond their control.

This is the age old liberal concept of your "speech" is literal violence whereas my actions in response to your speech is "free speech" . So the person with the pro-life display is being violent with his ideals, while the person who comes over and overturns the table and screams at and shoves the pro-life people is just exercising free speech.

So the problem is that Jews are on campus and openly express their Jewish religion and culture. How dare they! That is pure violence. The concept of physically crashing, disrupting, and ending a pro-Israeli meeting, or defacing Jewish symbols, or vandalizing the homes of Jewish professors is all free speech. At least according to liberal logic.

Unfortunately for Oberlin and their snowflake triggered children posing as college students is that the real world doesn't exist like that. They should have realized that after having to shell out tens of millions over their behavior with Gibson bakery. But alas, lessons are not something that some people will ever learn. Now they may come to learn that antisemitism and violence against Jews is not legally acceptable behavior in the eyes of United States Laws. Doesn't matter what the majority of students on campus believe, the laws are the laws are the laws and they need to be followed.

Now where this all goes is another question. So far there is still at least a pretense of support for Israel and the Jewish community from our leaders because that is what the vast majority of Americans are demanding. The question is whether or not those in leadership eventually cave to the demands of the far left radicals as they so often do or are forced by the larger popular demand to denounce all of this and actually punish it. This is putting liberals (especially at the highest of levels) in a precarious situation. Either way they seem to lose a fairly significant demographic.

Saw it.

Btw - I would not fuck with the man. Hopefully he gets the chance to put the union scum in a fucking wheelchair. "Make him a shopping cart" as we used to say.

I would suggest trading say, 10,000 US college students for each hostage held captive by Hamas. A cultural field trip to Gaza of sorts.

Everyone wins. Hamas gets some fresh meat to rape, torture and kill, and the Israelis get the hostages back.

Did you all see thd video of Senator Markwayne Mullin challenge an arrogant union boss to a fist fight in a senate hearing? Actually he was calling the union boss's challenge from a tweet. Bernie Sanders got angry over it. Very entertaining.
