Bill Barr agrees with Trump regarding the drug boat strikes.

“You have the power of the sovereign, to act against foreign threats, threats emanating from foreign sources,” Barr said. “We do zap people with drones. That’s the use of defense powers. We don’t have to go and arrest them. And the same is true with international drug organizations and narco terrorist stuff, if they pose a national defense threat.”
I am not sure I recall the last time Bill Barr defended Trump, but here we are. In fact, there may not be a bigger right wing critic of the President (outside of the Cheney family) than Bill Barr. But the reality is the reality and the two time former Attorney General of the United States is telling everyone that blowing up these drug boats is perfectly legal. Oh, and when Bill Barr wasn't an Attorney General, he was leading the Office of Legal Counsel, which is where anyone in the Federal Government who has a question about Federal law goes for counsel. In other words, there may not be anyone more qualified to speak on this subject.
It feels a little like the left is really wanting to defend the rights of the indefensible as a knee-jerk reaction to anything Trump does. Whether it be gang members who came here illegally, narco-terrorists who smuggle dangerous drugs into America, or just the run of the mill crazy person out stabbing people on the subway, the American left finds something to defend in these actions and something to attack for those who are trying to stop them. You would think this might come with a political cost and time will tell if it does. But ultimately it seems fairly indefensible to attack the United States over a squabble with illegal drug traffickers.

Well yeah, that's behind their reaction to EVERYTHING Trump does.
