Hunter pleads guilty and apparently there is NO plea deal on the table

10-1 says this deal is irrelevant as Joe will no doubt pardon Hunter on his way out the door. Obviously. the old man has nothing to lose at this point.

There is no information available about what sort of plea is on the table, but I wonder if it will matter anyways. Does Joe Biden owe it to anyone to keep his promise to not pardon Hunter at this point? If Joe can remain cognitive enough to sign the pardon, I believe he will and will give America the finger as he does. In some ways I wouldn't even blame him anymore. Who gives a bigger shit if Hunter goes to jail or not. His time as a player who wields influence is over, and for a guy like that, it may be punishment enough. He seems to have kept up with spending everything he brings in and will no doubt be broke in a few months if he already isn't.

Update: Apparently there is no plea deal offered and Hunter is simply going to plead guilty while not admitting to any actual guilt. This is known as the Alford plea and there is some speculation that the prosecution is "not" in on this, and that that they might actually object. Not sure why how you object to someone pleading guilty to all charges. That being said, it seems obvious where this is going. Hunter needs all of this to be wrapped up before his dad's term is over and is obviously expecting a pardon.

This also begs the question. Was the thread of a 25th amendment move against Joe to get him out of the race also a threat to take away Biden's ability to pardon his son? After all, he would no longer be president effective immediately after the 25th amendment was invoked. No longer having any authority to pardon his son. Are there plans even today to invoke the 25th amendment to have Harris become the "incumbent" which could also undermine Joe's ability to pardon his son. It has become obvious that Joe intends to pardon Hunter (even as he promised not to) and that they are now worried about this dragging out too long.
