Hot mics for the ABC debate appears to be red herring

The real issue is that Harris wants the debate to be seated and that the candidates be allowed to have notes.

The buzz from the left is that the Harris team wants to change the rules of the debate to not mute mics while the other candidate is speaking. The left and their media minions are suggesting that this is a great strategic move for Harris and that Trump is "rethinking" debating her because of this.

But the actual reality is that the Harris camp is asking for several changes to the debate structure, not just the hot mic issue. What they also want is for the candidate to be seated and for them to be allowed to have notes. I get the seated thing. Trump is a large man at 6' 2" and Harris is 5' 2". Trump would tower over her and make her look like a child. But notes? Is the Harris campaign really afraid that Kamala will not be able to remember what she is supposed to say? Apparently.

Ironically, the Harris campaign insisted that Trump was obligated to debate on ABC because he had agreed to debate Biden. Why is the Harris campaign now suggesting that the rules can be changed? They claim that the rules were always up for debate, but not the debate itself. Funny how that works? ABC should stand up and suggest that the rules are the rules are the rules and that both sides have already agreed to them. But that would suggest that Democrats would also have to follow the rules.
